Last night I went to go see the new Adam Sandler movie called “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan” which might as well of been titled “It’s-the-new-movie-with-Adam-Sandler-where-he-plays-a-middle-eastern-guy-named-Zohan-and-the-only-thing-he-can’t-do-is-come-up-with-more-than-one-thing-to-make-jokes-about” …seriously, the title is just too long on these newer movies.  That and the movie sucks, which doesn’t help. There was only ONE scene throughout the whole movie that I actually was laughing out loud to, the rest I had to either force a laugh or just sit in bewilderment.  I got to thinking after I _geniunely_ laughed that I’ve lowered my standards for what I find funny when I go to movies these days.  I didn’t even REALIZE that I was doing that either.  I think I had a slight epiphany or something when I got to that one part of the movie, and I just was thinking “Oh, yeah, so THAT’S what funny is…”  I had forgotten! It was strange feeling and now I have to ask WHAT THE HELL ARE THE WRITERS DOING??  Obviously there’s plenty of comedy just in the fact that these are middle eastern men in America, some of them just dumb idiot terrorists who aren’t successful in any of their attempts because of barriers in communication and bad luck.  There’s something THERE, but no the writers have to go with jokes about Zohan’s pubic hair and strange attraction to senior citizen women.  I just don’t get it.  Oh well, at least the annoying teenagers in the back were having a good time with it.

Early this morning, in the 5am hour, two girls approached the HOT-FM morning guy, Todd Chance (a co-worker of mine here in the building).  They were clearly Jonas Brothers fans, wearing tshirts and everything, and they said they had been waiting every day of the week outside of the building here to try and catch up with Todd.  They weren’t waking up early either, they had been up all night long in order to do this too!  Apparently they had tickets already to go to an upcoming Jonas Bros. show in Wisconsin actually, and they wanted to get in for a meet & greet and figured Todd would have the hook-up to make that happen.  Todd, being the nice guy that he is, said he’d do what he could for them…not sure if he’ll be able to get that for them, but that was quite something to see at freaking FIVE IN THE MORNING!  In case you don’t know, there isn’t much going on downtown GR at 5 in the morning other than bums walking around and other scary weird people who are talking to themselves.
